I saw your Elsa painting and that the face didn't look like her as much as you would have wanted. If you ever wanted to retouch it to try to improve on this, I have a few recommendations from my experience in several college level drawing classes. I think if you added a little more volume to her eyelashes (top and bottom), enlarged her irises a little and softened the top of the bridge of the nose, this would help. But the word is beautiful, and you did a fantastic job. The dress is too lovely.
I’m glad you like it! :)
I doubt making small changes like that would’ve helped much here. The “sorta royal painting” style I used is simply too different from that of the movie to make Elsa look like herself without compromising the kind of look I wanted to approximate (maybe if I reeaally worked at it, who knows. I don’t have that kind of time though)
Making clear choices is very important in art - My choice here was to prioritize the style over maintaining similarity to the original. Hence the changes in her dress as well.
Hey, Just started reading Strange Investigations on smackjeeves and following you on tumblr, how can I see that film you did? What i've seen on your tumblr looks great and I really wanna see your film.
I’ll post the film here soon enough, once I have new sound for it. Hopefully some time in September or October.
Hey, I just wanted to know if you're planning on continuing Stange Investigations? It's just super-wonderful and I really enjoy it :P and are you planning to print it? I think it'd look awesome in a book! Also, I adored your film and your general animation work is brilliant, I look forward to seeing more of it!
Hey, thanks for the compliments! Glad you like my stuff. :D
Generally I want to continue SI soon, but I’ve kind of been putting it off until I know better what I’m gonna do about work and all. I just graduated school and it’s a bit of a confusing time…
At any rate, if I will continue it I’d want to do it properly and build a website, something I haven’t done before and have to learn how to do, yikes. Then maybe I’d print it if there’s a demand… But I gotta start working on it again first.. :)
If all the work you've posted thus far is telling of how the final product, the film, is then it has got to be amazing! I'm excited to see it, but I understand waiting and doing touch ups and all. I am currently working on a little animated show and I always stumble back to your page for inspiration and encouragement. You're awesome and so is your work, keep it up and stay cool! Seeya!
Thanks a lot!! I hope you’ll like the final product. It’s great to hear I’m an inspiration to someone, even though I’m barely inspired myself, lol. Good luck with the show!
